2022 Congressional Art Competition

Our congressional office is participating in the Congressional Art Competition where high school students can participate in a nationwide art competition. We hope your students will be able to participate in this year’s Congressional Art Competition.

Meeting talented student artists and their families from across the district is something we look forward to each spring. More information will be given out at a Winners' Reception held in Washington D.C. at the Capitol Visitor Center Congressional Auditorium.

How to Enter the 2022 Congressional Art Competition

  • Review the 2022 Rules for Students and Teachers

  • Complete the 2022 Student Release Form

  • Submit the Student Release Form followed by 1 photo of your art piece and any other required materials to Shindler.auguste@mail.house.gov by 5 pm on Wednesday, May 4th.

We encourage all students in grades 9-12 who reside in or attend high school in Connecticut’s Fourth Congressional District to submit a piece of artwork to the 2022 Congressional Art Competition.

Entries will be judged by a panel of local artists and representatives of arts organizations in Southwest Connecticut. Additionally, we will hold a reception to honor this year’s participants and announce the winning entries. The winning entry from our district will be displayed for one year at the United States Capitol alongside artwork from every congressional district across the country.

You can find more information on the competition, including the rules and examples of past entries and winners on the House of Representatives website here, and see last year’s winners on our website here.
